What is the inside cotton-type stuff inside of a quilt?
February 3rd, 2009 | by admin |a.murphy_1989 asked:
I am making a quilt for the first time, self-taught, I am wondering what the material is inside of the quilt. I have the fabric for the outside and everything else, but can’t figure out what goes inside of it to save my life.

You can get it at your craft store. In the US you can probably find it in the fabric dept at a store like Walmart. Old quilts were made using cotton batting, but now I think it is a polyester batting.

It may be cotton or poly fil. It’s called batting and is available at fabric stores, JoAnns and even Wal-Mart. It’s available in several weights (thicknesses) and pre-cut sizes. Some stores have it on rolls and cut it for you.
