How do I wash a down quilt?

Today I am doing a little housecleaning and am washing my bed-covers. I have a a quilt-like feather cover that goes under my sheets and over the mattress. I looked for tags but there were none. I’m pretty sure it can machine-wash but I was wondering what cycle and for how long to wash it.

You have a feather bed. Take it to the laundromat and use one of the large front loaders. Be prepared for 2-3 hours of dryer time. Use 3-4 sneakers to break up the clumps. Don’t waste your money on a dry cleaner. They wash them too, with chemicals. Some of these chemicals can damage the feathers.
