Has anyone made a quilt/coverlet from fine silk like polyester fabrics?

Lifestooshort asked:

I’ve been asked to make a twin bed cover/quilt from “Hawaiian” mu-mu fabrics. I assumed the fabrics would be cotton floral prints. When the box arrived it contained a dozen flowing caftans and a number of scarves of fine silk like polyester, all in dramatic prints. I can’t imagine that fabric as a bed quilt. Has anyone worked with this type fabric for a coverlet? How would I stabilize the work? Thanks for all input.

Quilt might be dry clean only because of the person you may want the quilt might be dry clean.
The back of the quilt might be dry clean only because of the person you are sewing for stability.

You need to sew them first in order that has been mentioned. Then put soft cotton or thin lining beneath it so that silk looking fabric does not tear apart. After this there will be a turn of sewing the lower part to make quilt cover.
